Sit and Go Poker Tournament Strategy

My wife and I have been married for 32 years. In that time our pets, more commonly known to us as dogs, have taken a large part of that shared life together. It is no secret that these sometimes small friends are able to take the sting out of loneliness, the hurt out of bad relationships, or in our case, add happiness to an already happy time.

The first dog we had was a mix of german shepherd and black lab. The dog was a female, with mostly black, and some brown. We called her "Berny", after her long name of Bernecia Bernard the first. My wife had picked her up when we first decided to tie the knot. She showed me this small puppy when we met the next day after she received her. I was glad, for I did like dogs.

It wasn't long before I moved to another city some twenty miles away and took the small dog with me. A short time later, we were married and started our new life together. It was sheer h___, the first six months of our marriage. Two strong personalities that had trouble getting along. But, eventually we learned as other couples do. That is,that those differences when you were first married , you know the ones. Those things in each other you simply could not put up with, well after time and years, along with age; you decide that those things were not as bad as you thought. You simply stop fighting and started enjoying each other. It was during those times of the early years this german shepherd mix would be the friend to both of us. She was trained to go ask to go out, well trained to sit and stay, and a number of other commands. After awhile, it seemed the dog could just understand us as we spoke to her. We had her some 12 years, before she died. We missed her terribly. A good friend had left us. One we loved very much. A tear still fondly fills my eye as I recall this.

It was this shortage of dog power around, that led us to get our next dog. This one lasted fifteen years. A registered toy poodle named "Lady Cocoa Puff Bon Bon". She was a fiesty chocolate color, with spit and vinegar in her spirit. We loved her from the start. She too became potty trained and with Berny, could almost seem to know what we wanted just by our talking to her. She, though, unlike our other dog, was stubborn at times. If she wanted to go with you and you left her home, be prepared to find her leaving a mess of torn up paper and anything else she could get ahold of. As she grew older, her sight went bad, she could not move well. In the end, she left us as well. I chuckle now, thinking of this small spitfire. We have had two dogs, some 27 of the 32 years of marriage. We never got another dog, as of yet. We keep looking, but with already having two of the finest dogs ever put on Gods earth, it is hard to think we could find another one as loyal, loving, and of independent character as the two we have had.

In all, we decided to, if we get another, "lets do a poodle again"...

1. If a trade doesn't go your way within the first one to five minutes, get out. I usually get out within one or two minutes as soon as my perceived edge is gone.

2. If a trade goes against you in the first few seconds, begin drawing in your hard stop and/ or your target, trying to get out of the trade at break even.

3. Never let your hard stops get hit. When it happens, you may want to take a break and get some fresh air.

4. Hard stops are adjusted to market conditions. At the moment (July 6,2005) I am using 1.50 point hard stops on the SP futures.

5. Never move your hard stop away from your entry point, hoping that a bad trade will turn around.

6. If you find yourself *hoping* as you trade, it is a clear sign that you are not following good survival (money management) principles.

It will be impossible to put these principles together without a set of high-probability setups. Without good setups, trading is just a flip of the coin.

If you've started using Adsense as a way to increase advertising income, but the numbers just aren't adding up to what you expected, the problem might be with the ads themselves. If the ads being generated by Google's Adsense aren't relevant to your website, visitors won't click on them. And, no click-y, no money. It's that simple. And it's a simple situation to fix.

One way to know if the ads are working is to monitor the click-through-rate (CTR) on a page. If it's low, it's usually an indication that once a visitor arrived at your page using a certain keyword, that visitor did not find any ads relevant to that keyword. And unfortunately for you, the visitor found no reason to click on the ads.

How do I know this? It happened on my website. On one of my sites, I had a page dedicated to PHP programming (a programming language). The page had a low CTR. Upon further examination of the page, I noticed that not one of the ads was related to programming or even to technology.

What I did notice was that the ads were related to guitars. Guitars? I thought to myself, "What relevance do guitars have to PHP programming?" And I imagined visitors to my site wondered this as well.

After studying the ads, I noticed that one word seemed to keep jumping out at me. The word was "strings" as in guitar strings. Well strings are used in programming too, but Google was not able to make this distinction which is why it was generating guitar ads!

The solution to this problem was simple. I removed from my webpage the words "string" and "strings" (or I just used another word in place of string or strings). After Google found this page again and updated its view of it, the guitar ads were replaced with relevant ads. And best of all? CTR on this page immediately increased and so did my advertising income!

If you have a page with a low CTR, you may need to tweak your text so Adsense generates ads that are more relevant to the page. When making these types of changes to your webpages, use the same ideas you use for search engine optimization. Why?

Because Google uses the same logic to determine the appropriate Adsense ads to display on your page as it does to determine if your article should rank high for "blue widgets."

Some areas on your page that might need a bit of text tweaking include:

- The title of the page

- The H1-tags used in the page

- The number of occurrences of the keywords in the text of the article

- Changing the filename (this can be very effective, but only do this for new pages that are not yet in the search engines or you risk losing traffic)

One word of advice: Don't forget that your keywords determine your search engine rankings so take small steps when changing keywords.

And remember, the only ads that will bring you the extra Adsense income you're looking for are relevant ads!

Lady Twilight felt angry. It was one of those days when she was doing her best to be nice to everyone but nobody was being nice to her.

What if people could be friendlier she thought to herself as she wandered through the open air market. It was a warm, sunny day so there was no use blaming the weather. In that case it must mean that people just do not like me, she decided.

The chatter of voices was all around while she sat at a table by the side of the shopping crowd. She sipped a glass of green juice and felt very alone despite all the shoppers rushing about the street. Just then she spotted a young man and the newspaper headline on his paper... Twilight finished her drink and wandered along the street, feeling heavy, tired and still a little angry with this world full of unfriendly people. She turned to the left and walked right past the mirror man, he was there every week selling mirrors of all shapes and sizes. He was singing away to himself until he spotted Twilight, then the sparkle left his eyes and his face froze into a stern harsh expression.

She glared at him and out of the corner of her eye she caught her reflection in a mirror. She looked so angry and so bad tempered that she even surprised herself. So shocked was she by her look of rage that she burst out laughing.

The mirror man started laughing too and the two of them laughed until it hurt. With a sore belly, Twilight bade farewell to her friend and skipped along through the market with an inner happiness and a smile for everyone she met.

Something weird happened though. At this end of the market everyone wanted to talk to her, and most people seemed pleased to see her. People went out of their way to help her and it was a pleasure dealing with these nice people up this end of the street.

She walked past a news stand and there was that headline again... Lead And They Will Follow. Something clicked - so that is how it works. Smile and people will smile back, give first and then you will receive. The world is like a mirror and people reflect back to you what you give out.

Although not everyone will be nice back the odds certainly are in your favor if you take the risk and give first. Lead and let others follow your example.

People want to be liked, let them know that you like them and they will feel safer with you and the quality of communication will improve dramatically.

1) Not turning up or turning up to the wrong exam or the wrong place

PROBLEM:

Although it may seem amazing year after year, an unlucky student 'forgets' about the exam, thinks it is the next day or the morning instead of the afternoon. I am sure that you are 'way too good' to make this mistake.

SOLUTION: Take the time to review on several occasions with your brain 'switched on' your exam timetable, and even review it with someone else. Do not rely on what your friend thinks or even what you think! Only believe in written down black and white ! Double-check for yourself with the original information.

Review it on Saturday morning a week before the start of the exam and then every morning when you get up or before you go to sleep. Make sure you are certain where the exam will be held - don't assume!

2) Turning up with the wrong equipment

PROBLEM: The exam assumes that you have a calculator with you, but you didn't bring yours! You either waste time trying to borrow one, but the person you borrow it from is going to need it too, or you try and make do. Neither very satisfactory!

SOLUTION: Check what you are allowed to take into an exam and make sure that you have all the equipment neccessary one week before you will need it. If you can have two of everything - at worst you will be very popular with any friend that is not so organized as you!

3) Missing out parts of the exam

PROBLEM: Out of 100 students several will miss parts of the exam by mistake.

SOLUTION: Go through the paper backwords

at the very start of the exam starting from the back page so you can see where every question is and make sure that you have identified all the questions. ie if you have to choose 2 out of 6 questions to answer make sure that you have read all 6 questions.

4) Doing 'all' the questions when only say 3 out of 5 are asked for.

PROBLEM: Students will answer all the questions when only some are needed.

SOLUTION: Read the instructions carefully and slowly. Do not think you know it. It might have changed from exams you have had before.

If you are a brilliant student who writes really fast there is not a problem here. For the rest of us you have spent only 60% of available time answering questions that will be marked. The other 40% of your time you have completely wasted on answering questions that will not be marked. Chances are the examiners will choose the first, not the best. If you are not sure how many questions should be answered ask!

5) Getting the numbering out of order

PROBLEM: This nightmare can happen when you take questions out of order. However in order to use your time efficiently you sometimes have to do this.

SOLUTION: Always speak the number of the question to yourself when you are answering it. Double check every question and answer especially in multiple choice questions

6) Spending too much time answering one question.

PROBLEM: Even if you write a brilliant thesis on one question if the total marks available is only 20 out of an exam of 100 marks that is the most you can get.

SOLUTION: In general make sure that you allocate time according to the marks available. If you have time left over you can come back and add points.

7) Not making enough points in short notes or essays to get the marks available.

PROBLEM:If a part of a question is for 5 marks, You must say at least 5 seperate thing if you want to get all the marks assuming there is one mark for each point. If you only say two things you will only get two points. If you say five things, you must have read the examiners mind and know exactly what he wants to get 5 marks.

SOLUTION: In a short notes question like what were the reasons why...(5 marks) try to come up with 7 reasons, if you can, that way you can get one or two 'wrong' and still get full marks (check with your teacher that this will work). If you are given 5 lines to write on, then just give 5 and hope for the best. Similarly if an essay is for 25 marks then you must make at least 25 seperate different sentences about the question to have a hope of getting all the marks - far better to make too many than too few.

8) Not answering what is asked.

PROBLEM: This is dreadful - you work hard you do a great job but the examiner will be forced to give only a few marks or maybe zero because you have not read the question properly.

SOLUTION: Take your time reading every question. Take it one--word--at--a--time--real--slow--like. Read it again. Go though it backwards with one finger under each word if there are say only 5 essay questions. Underline each important word. Then read again forwards. Reading the question is not the place to rush or whizz through.

9) Getting stressed out because the first question is really difficult

PROBLEM: I once got stuck on a question that took me 1 1/2 hours in a 2 1/2 hour exam. I then had 1 hour to do 4 more questions!

SOLUTION: I've left the best till last this is really the single best idea for any exam:- Let your backbrain do the work.

Read one question, if you do not really know the answer well,leave it (without allowing yourself to be stressed!) and move to the next. Keep going until you find one you know all about. If you don't find the easy question - no matter!- go back through to the beginning of the exam paper again and find your 'least bad' question.

In the few minutes during which you have gone through the paper the question will have gone into you brain and the back brain will have done some work so you have a better chance of coming up with the answer. If you just look at the question waiting for the answer to come you can stress out and make a perfectly fine question seem like its been set in a totally different language! Let your back brain do the work -it keeps your stress levels low.

An increasing trend over the last few years has been for diet books to make things complex.

I expect it's because each one vies with the other to come out with some brand new theory or other about why we gain weight and why their diet plan is the only one to help us lose it. And the low fat, low calorie stuff has already been covered!

My problem with this new trend is that the diets all involve more counting and while basic maths was never a problem at school I don't want to use it at the dinner table to know what I can eat. And while counting calories is one thing (most of us are probably walking encyclopaedias by now with how many calories our usual choices contain) the new diets are so much more complex.

With the new diets we need to know carbohydrate counts and fat grams, GI index and all sorts. And sometimes it's not enough to have a straight count we have to work out our percentage of carbohydrates, proteins and fat (yes, follow one particular diet and you have to balance these at EVERY meal).

Somehow I think food was not meant to be eaten like this. It was meant to be enjoyed. Most of us know what is healthy and what is not. Most of us know we'd be better with an apple than a cream cake. Most of us know we need a good variety of all types of food to feel great.

The new diets will not last. More complex stuff will come along and it's sad because we could all lose weight with a few SIMPLE changes.

Make healthy choices for most of the food you eat
Vary your choices
Occasionally enjoy a small portion of whatever it is you love even if it's high in fat or sugar or whatever
Eat only when you're physically hungry
Stop when you're just satisfied, not stuffed
Fill half your plate at lunch and dinner with vegetables or salad, quarter carbs and a quarter protein.

If everyone who wanted to lose weight just followed these simple guidelines there would be many more successful dieters around and a lot less hassle in losing weight.

Sales Lead Generation. Health Insurance, Real Estate, Life Insurance, Mortgage Leads and MLM Leads

It is a fact of life for most new sales people; they get the dream sales job with unlimited earning potential and expect to earn so much money that they can now enjoy the fruits of their coming wealth. Everything seems perfect until they realize that before closing a sale and earning the big commission, they must first prospect for new customers (read, cold calls). Cold calling is hard to do. People hate to make cold calls and people hate being on the receiving end of them as well.

Prospecting is the most difficult part of the sales job. There are many ways to go about it but, for some reason, sales managers preach cold calling as the only way for young sales people to generate leads. As someone who has been through it, I wish that these attitudes would change.

I recently read one of the best selling books on cold calling. In this book, the author stresses persistence. He uses the 15-3-1 rule. That is, you need to make fifteen cold calls to make three appointments with prospects. Out of these 3 appointments you will close one sale. By being persistent and making fifteen cold calls a day, this will translate to, on average, one sale a day, five sales a week, twenty sales a month, etc. Further, the author explains that he doesn't mind the rejection that he gets when he cold calls. The reason is that since it takes fifteen calls to get an appointment, that means that he will hear the word "no" (rejection) fourteen times before he hears the word "yes."

This is simplistic and anybody reading this book may get overexcited and think that this is easy. It's not easy and the author's arguments don't hold up in real life selling.

Take the fifteen cold calls a day rule. Anybody reading this book will think that fifteen cold calls a day is nothing. If it takes 2-3 minutes to make a phone call, it shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to make your mandatory 15 calls. Then the rest of the day is spent selling in front of prospects.

But it doesn't work this way. If you've ever cold called, you will know that it usually takes at least 10 phone calls to reach a decision maker. Think about it, executives aren't sitting in their offices waiting for your call. They're either on the phone, in meetings, on vacation, or they just don't want to talk to you. So now, to talk to fifteen people, you need to make 150 cold calls. This is not 45 minutes of work; this can take days.

Further, for someone to say that he enjoys hearing the word "no" because it means he is getting closer to a "yes" is just misleading. Although a select few people can take this kind of rejection day in and day out, most cannot. It is only human nature to be discouraged by so much rejection.

There are better ways to get sales leads and increase your sales. People buy from people that they trust. Your time should be spent networking with your friends, colleagues, and business contacts. Get referrals, get introductions, get testimonials and the sales will come. Not only that, your job will be better; nobody likes the rejection and time consuming nature of cold calling.

In theory every Planning Application should be supported with a design statement. This is simply a written document that explains certain aspects of the design and why it is required including the clients needs.

The advice of Planning Policy Guidance:

General Policy and Principles (PPG1) is that all applicants should be able to demonstrate how they have taken account of the need for good design in their development proposals.

However, most small scale developments do not require a separate design statement to support a Planning Application as most issues & principals can be demonstrated on the actual drawings. Regretfully, Local Planning Authorities are under increasing pressure from Central Government to have this written support statement with applications & complicated or contentious schemes usually require a design statement in any case.

How will a Design Statement help?

It will help the Council, Councillors, neighbours, the public to: understand fully your proposals and the principles of the design; consider the proposals against design policies in the Local Plan; consider the proposal against design objectives in Planning Policy Guidance Note 1 from which the Design Statement requirement comes.

There are three essential steps to producing a Design Statement and these are:

Step 1 - site analysis and evaluation.

This is a factual account, which should be essentially based upon drawings and sketches explaining the site within its context, e.g. urban, residential, conservation area, sloping, industrial, vegetation etc. It is important that this analysis has its basis in fact and reason rather than opinion and should include: building styles and sizes, street patterns, the nature of spaces between buildings and their uses, the character of the area, proximity to Listed Buildings, etc.

An explanation of the constraints and opportunities the site has in terms of its design, e.g. important views, features worthy of retention or protection, features which are detrimental and need to be addressed, and an explanation of the constraints and opportunities the site has in terms of its context, e.g. local building, changes of levels, physical features such as underground services, drainage systems, overhead powerlines, service trenches, trees, ecology and wildlife habitats etc.

Step 2 - Identifying the design principles

These should be the main criteria that the design needs to fulfil. These principles should be so important that they are not easily changed. They should not be a list of preferences but a clear list of what needs to be included in the design and should remain consistent irrespective of any approach taken. These principles may also include critical constraints to the applicant such as minimum floor space to be achieved, the importance of signs to a commercial proposal, financial constraints, etc. It should also include principles that are a requirement of the Council as may be set down in Local Plans and Development Briefs or other Guidance Notes.

It is important to understand that each site and proposal is unique and there is no right or wrong set of design principles.

The design principles should clearly relate to the site analysis and evaluation findings. The design principles will vary in number and complexity from proposal to proposal.

For extensions or alterations to dwellings it is likely that there may be only one or two principles, e.g. the extension should be designed to be sympathetically related to the existing property and not to cause harm to the neighbour.

In more complex proposals, design principles may include the retention of important public views, mass and scale of buildings should be similar to those in the street or conversely a new building ought to be larger because of the relationship of the site to neighbouring buildings. Important trees may need to be kept or the buildings may need to face a particular way or be in specific positions to meet the needs of industrial activities etc.

Step 3 - Creating the design solution.

The third stage is to produce the design solution. The important factor is that the design solution should incorporate the design principles, which in turn can be justified against the site analysis and evaluation.

So what will a Design Statement look like?

There are no set rules or ways of presenting a Design Statement. Much depends upon the scale and nature of the development proposed. It should first comprise a detailed site analysis based upon drawings and sketches setting out the constraints, opportunities and design principles. Written statements alone may not be enough and photographs of the site and its surroundings can be helpful. The Statement should relate to the wider context of the site and not just to the site itself.

Because you don't feel too sure about which stock or mutual fund to buy you decide to become a member of an investment club. Each of the members contribute a certain amount of money each month and then meet to decide what to buy or sell.

It is a nice camaraderie, but what do you know about making money in the stock market? The members decide what services to buy to obtain information on stocks and funds. Certain members will be designated to do research on a particular stock and bring it to the next meeting.

The members become buried in gathering data - doing research and forget that the end result is to make money. It is relatively rare to do any technical analysis. They gather reports from so-called investment analysts at the big brokerage firms. Recently the Securities and Exchange Commission has been investigating the recommendations of their in-house analysts because of the very poor results of their calls. Some have been accused of giving buy recommendations on stocks it was obvious were dogs. Let's hope the SEC does something besides a slap on the wrist.

We used to have a guy where I was a broker who wrote reports. He was told to do a report with charts and graphs. He said, "OK, do you want it to be bullish or bearish?" He could slant it any way we told him using the same facts and statistics and never tell a lie. The small investor is at the mercy of these people.

One of the greatest sources of information is Morningstar. They have every bit of information that is available about a company and they will sell it to you at a reasonable price. My problem with all this information is there is one important thing they cannot tell you - if I buy it, will it go up?

After more than 30 years in the business I will tell you that all the information you can gather about any company or mutual fund is totally and completely worthless. Trying to pick a winning stock is very difficult so what I do is let a very smart guy do it for me and he does it at no charge. How? Simple. I hire the manager of a no-load mutual fund that is currently going up and I buy that. As long

as his fund is advancing in price I will keep it and as soon as it starts down I sell it and find a new smart fund manager who can make money for me.

There is no such thing as a "good" mutual fund. At times they are good and at times they are bad. Good is going up. Bad is going down. If a fund has been advancing for more than 60 or 90 days at the rate of more than 2% per month it will show up on my Buy list. I don't need to know anything else about it and no further research is necessary.

Show this to your investment club members. A chart is helpful, but the numbers will speak for themselves. The only research your club needs to do is find a no-load mutual fund that is advancing the most in the last 90 days. Forget about 3-year and 5-year performance. What has it done lately? Your club can be a winner every year.

Monitor your credit report from all three major credit bureaus - Experian, TransUnion, and Equifax - on a regular basis. Check your credit profile at least annually. Review it carefully and make sure that any past mistakes or disputes have been corrected.

Also, if you notice an account listed that you know that you have not personally opened, contact that creditor and the credit bureaus immediately. This could be a sign that you've had your identity stolen. Request to have a fraud alert placed on your profile and account to protect yourself and your credit. The Gizmondo combined media player, phone and gaming gadget went on sale in the last month for �½229. The device sports an impressive spec: - It can be used to play games, music tracks and movies, it can take and store digital photos and can send SMS, MMS and emails, GPS, GPRS and Bluetooth for multi-player gaming.

From April 22nd you'll be able to buy a Gizmondo for �½100 less - a cool 44% saving. In return, for this discount, Gizmondo users will have to watch three "Smart Adds" per day.

The Smart Adds will mainly consist of video clips and small games that come with redemption codes or barcodes that are wirelessly delivered to your Gizmondo over its GPRS connection.

I'm not so sure that this option is cheaper....Ok, 44% less but who pays the data cost for downloading the ad? Even if each ad is only 100Kb (I'm guessing they'll be more but I'm being generous) then on my network (Vodafone) at �½2.35/Mb these ads would cost me �½257!!!

Other reasons why I think the Gizmondo is destined for failure are:

- It costs �½229. Nintendo's DS handheld costs �½99, and a PSP is expected to cost �½129 - far less than the cost of a Gizmondo

- The DS already has a pool of fans of earlier Nintendo handhelds to draw on (87,000 DS handhelds were sold in the first two days in Europe) and the PSP is also likely to have a strong following

- Most importantly, it doesn't have a killer game for launch

I'd love to be able to 'Buy British' but I think the Gizmondo will go the way of the C5, Sedgeway etc. May be worth buying one as I bet it will be worth a bit in 10 years!

Maybe in a year I'll be proven wrong.

Reuben St. Clair, the teacher protagonist in the book Pay It Forward, starts a movement with a voluntary, extra-credit assignment:

Trevor, a 12 year old student, thinks of an idea...

"You see, I do something real good for three people. And then when they ask how they can pay it back, I say they have to Pay It Forward. To three more people. Each. So nine people get helped. Then those people have to do twenty-seven."

* Just think... what if 100 people started with 3 deeds in that first month?

"It doesn't have to be a big thing. It can just seem that way, depending on whom you do it for."

The 3 Vital Ingredients of The Abundance Puzzle There are 2 things we'll take from the story above and an additional one, based on The Small World Effect, that ties it all together and brings it full circle so that we get our rewards...

1. Viral Growth

This exponential thing isn't something that was invented along with the Internet - it's behind epidemics, whether they're social movements, trends or diseases. Getting people to join your movement by passing things forward can create dramatic exposure and quickly.

2. Small Deeds that Seem Big

The idea that the deed only has to be "perceived as big" is the key to how you can give referrals, provide high value stuff and do seemingly huge favours without even thinking about the need for a payback... By the way, it's important that you approach this without any expectation of a direct payback from the people you help - if you don't you'll be frustrated.

3. It's a Small World

You've probably already heard of the, Small World Effect, 6 degrees of separation, or Kevin Bacon Game. They're essentially telling us the same thing... It's the idea that we are all linked to everyone else by 5 intermediaries or less. Recent theoretical work suggests that the number may or may not be 6, but it is certainly small not 100 for example.

Just think about it. If you know 300 people who each know 300 people who each know 300 people etc then it doesn't take long to hit the whole population of earth within about 6 steps.

Keep these three things in mind and...

Your Reward Will Come

So let's agree that everyone is linked by 6 steps or less. Doing favours and encouraging the recipients to act in the same way when dealing with others means that your reward will happen from unexpected sources and more quickly than you could imagine.

You'll become a benefactor of the very thing you've started, only there will be far more good things coming your way than you initially set in motion. This is the combination of quick viral growth and a small world.

So, your marketing can relax from the usual and frustrating 'what's in it for me?' approach to one where you feel good, look good and get rewarded naturally.

The "Big" Games In Person

Have you ever dreamed about seeing a big sports event like the Super Bowl, NCAA Final Four, or Daytona 500 in person? If so, what kept you from realizing your dream?

Before you answer that one, let me demonstrate how the typical fan tries to buy tickets. I'll use the Indianapolis 500 as an example. As I write this the "Greatest Spectacle In Racing" is a few weeks away.

Since many fans don't start thinking about tickets until weeks, or months, before the event, it's very possible some are just now deciding they want to see this race.

Even at this late date, there are still a few tickets available directly from the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, but rest assured the choice seats are long gone.

There's good news, however.

A quick Internet search shows there are are plenty of good seats available. At one popular ticket broker site, they range in price from $65 to $645 each depending on track location. According to the official Indianapolis 500 website, these same tickets have a face value of $40 to $90 each. So, if you buy your tickets from a broker, you'll end up paying 2, 3, or 4 times face value.

Not so good news.

Before I get back to my original question, let me say this. If you're independently wealthy, go ahead and buy your tickets from a broker since money isn't an issue. However, if you're like the rest of us, it was probably the high cost of tickets that kept you from seeing a game or event in person.

So how do you avoid overpaying for tickets? Well it's really quite simple. Plan in advance. See, I said it was simple.

Since every major sports event occurs at approximately the same time each year, there's no reason why you shouldn't be planning for next year right now. Let's get back to our typical race fan. Once he discovers how much Indy 500 tickets will set him back, he'll decide that's too much and forget about the race. A year rolls by, and the approaching race starts making news. By this time maybe he's forgotten about the ticket prices, or maybe he thinks this year he'll find bargain tickets somewhere.

Nope.

This year the prices are even higher, so he gives up yet again all the while thinking to himself that "one of these days" he's actually going to plunk down the money for tickets. Good luck. Sadly, while savvy fans will be experiencing the sights, sounds, and smells of the race in person, he'll be watching from home on the small screen.

Now if he would have just planned in advance for his race-day experience, the outcome could be very different. Many of those same tickets selling for well above face value in the weeks leading up to the race could have been had for face value a year earlier.

The window of opportunity for many sports tickets opens shortly after the preceding year's event has ended.

This is even the case for some of the biggies like the Super Bowl or the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament.

The tickets are out there. You just have to know when and where to look. Here are some suggestions.

1) Check the official website of the sponsoring organization. Many times this will have all the information you need, including ticket procedures, deadlines, and special requirements. Do this as soon as possible after the event has taken place and keep checking periodically until updated information has been posted.

2) If you're more impatient, call the organization directly. You can usually find a phone number on the website, but if it's not there call 800 directory assistance. Ask how you can purchase tickets to next year's game, or at least get your name on a waiting list so you'll be notified when tickets are available. Make sure you know all the pertinent dates, addresses and prices so you'll be ready when they go on sale.

3) Check the official website of the host venue. Often the arena or stadium handles ticket sales, as is the case for the first/ second and regional rounds of the NCAA Basketball Tournament. In this case, the early bird definitely gets the worm. Again, a polite phone call may provide additional information or get your name on the proper list.

4) Consider joining a team's fan club or booster club. Many times these memberships come with special advance notice of tickets sales or access to in-demand tickets. For example Boston Red Sox fans should join the Red Sox Nation to get ticket preferences for some of the hottest seats in Fenway Park. Membership will only set you back $9.95, a small price if you score some premium tickets.

5) Finally, search the Internet for information about the specific event or venue. You may find a little-known piece of information that allows you to apply for highly-coveted tickets. Be creative and try different word combinations as your search terms. Read everything you can find about the upcoming game or previous games. It's all about your willingness to put in a little "leg work" that may pay off in face-value Super Bowl or Final Four tickets.

In fact I just applied for 2006 Final Four tickets last week, but I'm sure that many hoops fans didn't even know that was possible.

So, regardless of the event or game, if you want to see it in person without taking out a second mortgage for tickets, try a little advance planning. With persistence and patience, you may just be watching it next year from the front row.

One of the things we can be as certain of as death and taxes is that in every meeting at least one person will hand out a document for comments and discussion. But think of the huge workload this gives rise to for the author. She can only hope that not too many people respond, or that they don't all do so at once!

But there's another way...

Microsoft Word has a nice feature called tracking. When you go through a document by hand, you cross words out here, insert a line there -- but of course the original document is still visible, no none of the changes is irrevocable.

Word has exactly the same facility:

Go to tools - and now when you delete a word it doesn't disappear, a red line is put through it. By the same token, when you insert a word it appears in green.

Next, place the document in an area where it's accessible to everyone, such as in the global directory in Mulberry place, and ask people to make their comments and alterations there. (save a copy elsewhere, though, in case somebody deletes it!)

An added bonus of using this approach is that when you place the mouse pointer over an amendment, it tells you who made it. That means you can ask them questions about it.

But the best part is that once everyone has put in their two- penn'orth, al you need do is accept or delete each suggestion with a click of the mouse. In fact, you can do all of it with just one click by selecting accept all or reject all.

This feature alone could save you hours and hours.

First of all, most English speaking countries use an ISO character set which is only capable of reading and viewing languages that use the alphabet. When you are able to find a Chinese, Japanese, or Korean web site you may be surprised to know that those smiley faces and other jargon are actually not part of their written language. To view these languages properly you will have to change your computers character code.

The other huge problem with online dictionaries and languages of different origin is the fact that while, for example, English use the SVO (Subject-Verb-Object) system the Japanese language use the Subject-Object-Verb word order. The Japanese language also only uses two types of tenses. The present tense in Japanese is both the simple present tense as well as the future tense, while the past tense in Japanese acts as the simple past tense. This gives online translators a huge disadvantage as opposed to their human counterparts.

Step Five - Internal Linking

With all the talk out there about linking, one might be under the impression that the only links that count are those from other websites. While these links certainly play an important role (as will be discussed in part eight of this series) these are certainly not the only important links.

When you're about to launch into your link work why not stop and consider the ones that are easiest to attain and maximize first. That would be, the ones right there on your own site and those which you have total and complete control of. Properly used internal links can be a useful weapon in your SEO arsenal.

The internal linking structure can:

Insure that your website gets properly spidered and that all pages are found by the search engines

Build the relevancy of a page to a keyword phrase

Increase the PageRank of an internal page

Here is how the internal linking structure can affect these areas and how to maximize the effectiveness of the internal linking on your own website.

Getting Your Website Spidered

Insuring that every page of your website gets found by the search engine spiders is probably the simplest thing you can do for your rankings. Not only will this increase the number of pages that a search engine credits your site with, but it also increases the number of phrases that your website has the potential to rank for.

I have seen websites that, once the search engines find all of their pages, find that they are ranking on the first page and seeing traffic from phrases they never thought to even research or target.

This may not necessarily be the case for you however having a larger site with more pages related to your content will boost the value of your site overall. You are offering this content to your visitors, so why hide it from the search engines.

Pages can be hidden from search engines if the linking is done in a way that they cannot read. This is the case in many navigation scripts. If your site uses a script-based navigation system then you will want to consider the implementation of one of the internal linking structures noted further in the article.

Additionally, image-based navigation is spiderable however the search engines can't see what an image is and thus, cannot assign any relevancy from an image to the page it links to other than assigning it a place in your website hierarchy.

Building The Relevancy Of A Page To A Keyword Phrase

Anyone who wants to get their website into the top positions on the search engines for multiple phrases must start out with a clearly defined objective, including which pages should rank for which phrases. Generally speaking it will be your homepage that you will use to target your most competitive phrase and move on to targeting less competitive phrases on your internal pages.

To help build the relevancy of a page to a keyword phrase you will want to use the keyword phrase in the anchor text of the links to that page. Let's assume that you have a website hosting company. Rather than linking to your homepage with the anchor text "home" link to it with the text "web hosting main". This will attach the words "web" and "hosting" and "main" to your homepage. You can obviously leave the word "main" out if desirable however in many cases it does work for the visitor (you know, those people you're actually building the site for).

This doesn't stop at the homepage. If you are linking to internal pages either through your navigation, footers, or inline text links - try to use the phrases that you would want to target on those pages as the linking text. For example, if that hosting company offered and wanted to target "dedicated hosting", rather than leaving the link at solely the beautiful

:: SH COM :: Web Hosting,Adult Web Hosting,Dedicated Server,Managed Hosting,Webdesign,Webhosting,Fir...

graphic in the middle of the homepage they would want to include a text link with the anchor text "dedicated hosting" and link to this internal page. This will tie the keywords "dedicated hosting" to the page.

In a field as competitive as hosting this alone won't launch the site to the top ten however it'll give it a boost and in SEO, especially for competitive phrases, every advantage you can give your site counts.

Increasing The PageRank Of Internal Pages

While we will be discussing PageRank (a Google-based term) here the same rules generally apply for the other engines. The closer a page is in clicks from your homepage, the higher the value (or PageRank) the page is assigned. Basically, if I have a page linked to from my homepage it will be given more weight that a page that is four or five levels deep in my site.

This does not mean that you should link to all of your pages from your homepage. Not only does this diffuse the weight of each individual link but it will look incredibly unattractive if your site is significantly large.

Figure out what you main phrases are and which pages will be used to rank for them and be sure to include text links to these internal pages on your homepage. It's important to pick solid pages to target keyword phrases on as you don't want human visitors going to your "terms and conditions" page before they've even seen the products.

If that hosting company noted above has a PageRank 6 homepage, the pages linked from its homepage will generally be a PageRank 5 (sometimes 4, sometimes 6 depending on the weight of the 6 for the homepage). Regardless, it will be significantly higher that if that page was linked to from a PageRank 3 internal page.

How To Improve Your Internal Linking Structure

There are many methods you can use to improve your internal linking structure. The three main ones are:

Text link navigation
Footers
Inline text links

Text Link Navigation

Most websites include some form of navigation on the left hand side. This makes it one of the first things read by a search engine

Google ranking report, web ranking, google rankings, search engine positioning

spider (read "Table Structures For Top Search Engine Positioning" by Mary Davies (http://www.beanstalk-inc.com/articles/se-friendly-design/table-structure.htm) for methods on getting your content read before your left hand navigation). If it is one of the first things the search engine spiders sees when it goes through your site it will have a strong weight added to it so it must be optimized with care.

If you are using text link navigation be sure to include the targeted keywords in the links. Thankfully this cannot be taken as meaning "cram your keywords into each and every link" because this is your navigation and that would look ridiculous. I've seen sites that try to get the main phrase in virtually every link. Not only does this look horrible but it may get your site penalized for spam (especially if the links are one after another).

You don't have to get your keywords in every link but if workable, every second or third link works well. Also consider what you are targeting on internal pages. If you homepage target is "web hosting" and you've linked to you homepage in the navigation with "web hosting main" which is followed by your contact page so you've used "contact us", it would be a good idea to use the anchor text "dedicated hosting" for the third link.

It reinforces the "hosting" relevancy and also attaches relevancy to the dedicated hosting page of the site to the phrase "dedicated hosting" in the anchor text.

Footers

Footers are the often overused and abused area of websites. While they are useful for getting spiders through your site and the other points noted above, they should not be used as spam tools. I've seen in my travels, footers that are longer than the content areas of pages from websites linking to every single page in their site from them. Not only does this look bad but it reduces that value of each individual link (which then become 1 out of 200 links rather than 1 out of 10 or 20).

Keep your footers clean, use the anchor text well, and link to the key internal pages of your website and you will have a well optimized footer. You will also want to include in your footer a link to a sitemap. On this sitemap, link to every page in your site. Here is where you can simply insure that every page gets found. Well worded anchor text is a good rule on your sitemap as well. You may also want to consider a limited description of the page on your sitemap. This will give you added verbiage to solidify the relevancy of the sitemap page to the page you are linking to.

Internal Text Links

Internal text links are links placed within the content of your work. They were covered in last week's article on content optimization, which gives me a great opportunity to use one as an example. (in the HTML version the text "content optimization" was used as an example inline link to http://www.beanstalk-inc.com/articles/search-engine-positioning/optimization.htm).

While debatable, inline text links do appear to be given extra weight as their very nature implies that the link is entirely relevant to the content of the site.

Final Notes

As noted above, simply changing your internal navigation will not launch your site to the top of the rankings however it's important to use each and every advantage available to create a solid top ten ranking for your site that will hold it's position.

They will get your pages doing better, they will help get your entire site spidered, they will help increase the value of internal pages and they will build the relevancy of internal pages to specific keyword phrases.

Even if that's all they do, aren't they worth taking the time to do right?

Did you ever wish you could afford to hire one of those professional copy writers who charge $5000 or more to write a simple sales letter? Or worse, have you laid down your hard-earned cash for a self-proclaimed "professional" writer, and gotten back something your 3rd grader could have written?

page trying to come up with compelling ad copy for that "killer" sales letter (you know, the one that's going to make you rich beyond your wildest dreams?)... STOP!

Why drive yourself nuts and give yourself a major headache trying to train yourself to be a professional copy writer overnight? Do what the gurus do... start a "swipe file."

That's an unfortunate name, swipe file. It sounds unethical. Please understand, I am NOT condoning plagiarism! But every so-called "internet marketing guru" openly admits to having a swipe file that they use when they need a little inspiration.

So what is a swipe file and how do you use it legally and ethically?

Basically, whenever you come across an ad or sales letter that makes you want to run and grab your wallet... stop and print out that copy first! Highlight or circle the parts of the ad that have you excited and eager to make a purchase. Then put it away in a folder or notebook. This is your swipe file.

Eventually, you'll accumulate quite a stack of great professional quality ads. Then, when you're staring at that blank page

trying to compose your next ad campaign or sales letter, you can leaf through your swipe file and MODEL your ad copy after some of those ads... but DO NOT copy them word for word. Substitute your own words and put your own stamp on them. Mix and match different approaches from different ads.

Remember, this is meant to be inspirational, not criminal. NEVER out and out copy these ads. Just analyze how the ad is structured, what TYPES of words are used, and then create your own UNIQUE sales copy by emulating the successful advertising techniques from your swipe file.

The idea is to study copy writing techniques as you go. Eventually, you'll find you won't need to refer to your swipe file as often. Your blank pages won't stay blank for long because you'll have learned how to write killer ad copy of your own! You learn best by doing it. Then it becomes second nature.

Who knows? Maybe you'll get so good at writing sales copy that soon other people will be adding YOUR work to THEIR swipe files!

I would say this fiction is a light comedy that is quite entertaining and has some romance elements as well. Author Robert Mercer-Nairne brings attention to common human frailties with a sense of fun. He clearly reveals the desire to &get rich quick' in North American Society. Members of this society tend to hear what we WANT to hear and perceive the greener pasture out there somewhere - rather than in the here and now.

Readers are shown the foolishness of following others blindly and the danger of where our greed can take us. Innocents can have their life irrevocable altered by someone else's desire to climb a corporate or social ladder. The benefit of spiritual leaders to help ground the characters in this novel, helping them learn to forgive themselves and move on in life is used at several points in the story.

It's always a challenge finding time to clean my house. Seems the hours, days and weeks just fly by, so much to do, so little time. Here are three ways to fit in your house cleaning.

1. Schedule it in. We all make appointments, whether it is for ourselves or someone else. Before we set up an appointment we check our schedules, making sure we find the best time. Why not schedule a house cleaning appointment. Pick a time once a week and make that a regular appointment, if we need to cancel be sure to reschedule it for that week. I find that since I keep up with cleaning once a week, it doesn't take me as long and there isn't much dust.

2. One room a day. Instead of choosing one day a week to clean, try cleaning one room a day. Our house won't be clean at once, but by the end of the week the whole house will be cleaned. Monday comes and we are starting again. Sometimes when I'm cooking and have something in the oven, I'll do a quick wipe down of all the counters. While the kids are in the tub, I wipe down the bathroom and clean the toilet.

3. Hand off a room. If there are other people living in the house and are old enough to take on responsibility, then hand off a room. We can either have them choose or we can choose the room for them. Let them help with the cleaning and I don't think asking for help with "one" room in the house is asking too much. Once we have less rooms to clean, the easier it is to get the rest of the house done.

The Wire Fox Terrier is still today lively, playful, and a little foxy. Full of peppery spunk and on the hunt for play at all times may, as some have decided, suggest a challenging (ahem�½obstinate) way, but given its alertness, this also means the Wire Fox is a great watchdog and even better pet for kids.

In fact, the Wire Fox Terrier needs activity. So daily exercise and a small bit of space to romp are ideal elements in the Fox environment. A recent case in the news highlights an alarming trend in "alternative" health care-how difficult it is becoming to both obtain and provide alternative care in the United States. Dr. James Michael Shortt (an M.D.) practicing longevity medicine in Greenville, South Carolina, has been sued by the relatives of a patient who died under his care, and may be indicted for murder. (AP/LA Times 1-09-05.)

The information in the media concerning this unfortunate case is very instructive if read with a discerning eye. Dr. Shortt is being sued because he administered a therapy that is outside "the standards of care of the medical profession." This phrase is key. Another cause of action in the lawsuit was that Dr. Shortt had told the patient that her multiple sclerosis was caused by a bacteria or virus and that the organism(s) could be killed by hydrogen peroxide infusions. Finally, the coroner and pathologist who examined the patient attributed her death to "complications caused by the hydrogen peroxide infusion, which the pathologist said &had no legitimate use . . . in the medical literature.' "

The missing data in this homicide ruling is that the patient was taking two prescriptions prescribed by her mainstream physician-Tegretol and Copaxone. If you read the Physician's Desk Reference, there are warnings that both of these substances may cause exactly the kinds of side effects that she died from. Hydrogen Peroxide does not cause these effects. Even more disturbing, is that one of these drugs is not approved for use with Multiple Sclerosis. So who is truly at fault here? Dr. Shortt consulted with the International Oxidative Medicine Association, which developed the regimens he used. The group found that Dr. Shortt had followed its "well-established" protocols. These protocols are clinically established in thousands of patients. Dr. Shortt himself has treated over 1,800 patients with this protocol.

The issues here that are highlighted within this unfortunate set of circumstances are:

1) The legal establishment makes the assumption that the medical profession has proven treatments and, more importantly, the only legal treatments for conditions of human health.

If you've been following the news, you know how fallacious this is. Vioxx is only the latest example of a substance, approved for use, that has proven to be life-threatening. Where was "the medical literature" when this drug was approved for use? How did it achieve acceptance without better scrutiny? I predict that we will soon have another scandal in the news - statins and the way in which they cause heart failure.

2) The medical profession uses its peer review process to decide what information and research enters the public realm and becomes part of the accepted "medical literature".

Any information that is outside the medical paradigm (read alternative therapies) is systematically shut out by peer review and never gets published in medically accepted journals. I can give you hundreds of references documenting the link between Lyme disease and over 350 chronic health conditions. But, the medical profession chooses to selectively ignore them.

3) Most of the research in the United States is funded by the pharmaceutical industry. Natural remedies, which cannot be patented, provide no profit incentive to the pharmaceutical houses and are, therefore, ignored - even though they are safer in many cases than the approved drugs. There is a large body of research work in Europe and in Asia on the efficacy of many "natural" remedies that simply do not show up here in the U.S.

4) There are a wide variety of conditions for which the medical profession has no etiology. MS is one. There is research showing that many of these conditions are linked to the Lyme disease parasite; however, the medical profession is busy pretending that wide spread Lyme disease doesn't exist, despite massive amounts of evidence to the contrary. MS has been specifically linked to the Lyme organism (for example, Fallon BA, Kochevar JM, Gaito A., Nields JA, "The Underdiagnosis of neuropsychiatric Lyme disease in children and adults," Psych Clin North Am., 1998, Sep;21(3):693-703. From the Department of Psychiatry, Columbia University Medical Center, New York, New York. The abstract specifically references the connection between Lyme Disease and multiple sclerosis.)

I personally believe that the medical profession is fighting for its credibility, because there are so many conditions for which they have no effective treatment. Whenever possible, the full weight of the medical board and the legal system is brought to bear on any medical practitioner who dares to buck the system. Dr. Shortt is only the latest in a long line of distinguished predecessors.

The only solution that I can see to this dilemma is that the public become informed about what is going on and start a grass roots movement to oppose this entrenched power grab. Your health and your health care freedom depend upon it.

You may not like what I'm about to say, but dieting alone will not help you to lose weight. You have to give your body the exercise it needs. As I mentioned earlier, a couple of centuries ago, people were involved in a lot of manual labor.

This gave their bodies all the exercise that was needed. But due to the changed life styles, most of us do not have to engage in strenuous work. Most of us sit in front of computers all day long or engage in other sedentary works.

It is because of this that exercise becomes crucial for weight loss. Generally people do not gain weight till their early twenties. But once they cross the 25 mark, then visible signs of weight gain can be seen everywhere and in the mid section in particular.

There is something very important that you have to understand if you are really considering the possibility of losing weight. You will have to consciously give your body the required exercise that it needs for the weight loss to be really effective.

Watching your diet alone is not going to yield results unless it is coupled with proper exercise. You have to make a conscious effort for this. And the solution for this is a work out routine.

When we think about the life in the country, there is always something rosy about it. What is it that the people in the country have that we do not? When

you ponder about it you find that those lucky souls eat good food, they work really hard, by work I mean real physical work and they have good night's sleep. Of course they do not have all the amenities and facilities that the city life has to offer.

But the city life comes with a lot of strings attached. People in the cities are generally less healthy than the people in the country. One of the reasons is pollution of course but the other reason is because people in the city do not get enough exercise.

Now, when I talk about healthy bodies please make no mistake about what I am referring to. I am not talking about the Mr. Universe kind of body, the bodies that we see on WWF.

I am talking about people who are fit. And fitness and exercise are just two sides of the same coin. They both go hand in hand.

In order to stay fit you need exercise and in order to exercise you need to be fit. But just because you are not fit now, it does not mean that you shouldn't exercise.

And just like that, just because you do not have any visible excess fat on your body right now, it does not mean that you need no exercise. Exercise is the best way to keep obesity, cardio vascular disorders, hypertension and all those lifestyle-related disorders under control.

First of all let us get one point straight, exercise does not necessarily mean pumping metal. If you do have the time to go to a gymnasium everyday, then that is well and good.

But I suppose most of us do not have the time for a regular work out in a gym. So the other alternative is to do it at home of course.

But whether it is at home or at a multi-gym, there is something that I want to tell you. Whatever you are doing, you must try and do it regularly.

Dumbbell routines and exercises

Consistency is very important for an exercise routine to have the desired effect on our body. Getting started is the easy part, it is sticking to a regular exercise routine that is difficult and this is what makes most people give up in between.

Most people get on to a beautiful start. They buy track suits and gym-wear, running shoes and a whole lot of other gear. Their first day at the gym is almost a celebration.

Then as the days go on, they find it increasingly difficult to meet the domestic and professional demands and so their routine slows down and finally comes to a complete workout burn out. In other words, the stop working out completely

It is a universal fact that the most chosen time for work outs is the evenings. If you can stick to work out in the evenings then it is well and good. But most of us find ourselves exhausted in the evenings. We find ourselves physically and mentally drained. And at that time our bodies will be just too tired for a work out.

The result is that after the first few days of working out, the interest just dwindles away. The other reason is that in the evenings a thousand and one things may crop up and then there is hardly time for a warm up. So it is best to set aside some time for exercise in the morning itself.

There are two advantages of setting apart time in the morning. The first advantage is that in the morning our bodies are fresh and full of energy. Now over here I want to make one point clear.

There is a popular misconception that exercise depletes the body of energy but the case is just the opposite. Exercise pumps up more blood through the different parts of the body and warms up the body, so in fact, after exercise we feel more charged and ready to face the challenges of the day.

The second advantage is that in the morning we can plan for the whole day without letting the exercise routine affect the rest of our activities.

What about those of us who have never worked out before? In such cases you might need to start off under the personal supervision of an instructor and that may require that you go to a gym. But what I would suggest is that there are two simple things that any one can do for which you do not need the help of any instructor.

You know what these are? They are walking and swimming. Any body can walk and those of you who know how to swim can swim. For these two activities you do not need much gear and experts say that these two exercises have no side effects and are excellent stress busters.

So in the morning wake up just half an hour earlier, put on your walking shoes and hit the roads. Most roads will be less crowded at this hour and less polluted too. It is a wonderful way to start a day.

Sometimes we are asking ourselves, "How can I do all this?", "Work at home and take care of my family?", "My kids, my home and my husband?", "Can I take this risk?".

Well if you do not try, you will never know how challenging is your life and how much you can handle. I want to guide you threw some tips. On organizing your life and work, and how to balance your work so it doesn't have to be so challenging and stressful.

First of all, stop reminding yourself of all the things you have to do, this will drain your brain and never have your mind clear to complete your daily tasks. Don't hurt yourself so much with this take it easy and step by step. There are a lot of ways to make life more easy and even fun, work at home can be fun and exciting only if you make it this way. It is up to you, to make it fun and worth staying at home and working. Let's start with bases.

Make a list of all the thing you know you need to have done. If you can make this list and make some copies it will be even better. Add a copy on your refrigerator, next to your bed, and even next to your office. You can make a list anyways from 1-10 or from 10-1 start from least important to urgent or vice versa. Ok I want to make a list with you on some things I know a mom who works at home must try to get done before she sits on her pc and work or visits customers.

1) Every night make sure all your dishes and washed and your sink has not even one plate. This way when you wake up in the morning your kitchen is bright and clean. All you have to do is make your nice and hot cup of coffee or tea.

2)Check your kids room

3)Go to your living room and check under the seats for papers even if you find the smallest paper just pick it up... remember clutter begins from the least and smallest paper.

4)After you see that you have settled your home enough to relax then go with the daily tasks list. Remember to try and add everything without overwhelming yourself. You want to try and make your days fun and enough time for your family, not stressed and drive yourself crazy repeating what you have to do, set your mind to this specific task til it's done, then you move on to the next one.

And very important, do not make the list for a month and very long, make a daily list, do not add a lot of tasks you need time to work and pamper yourself, make the list short and fast. Do not make everything everyday, leave a little for the next day, this way you give yourself credit every time you reach that goal.

5)While kids are in school, try and make everything on time, if you have orders just place them, fillers, catalogs, etc... try and make everything on time so you can give yourself at least an hour to have mommy time, maybe drink a tea and hot bath, bubbles, candles, nice soft music and very important, meditate this helps clear your mind. And balance your eating habits, sometimes stress and daily tasks can create a eating disorder, and this is not healthy.

6)Prepare dinner early, this is something I do early in the morning. When I wake up I take out the meat from the freezer and start making my coffee, by 12:00 noon I start putting it in the microwave and seasoning it, this way by 2:00 I am already starting to make it, believe me sometimes the kids are already eating by 3:30 or 4:00 and this helps a lot because I have my kitchen clean and organized at 6:00pm and have a lot of time for myself and even watch a movie with the kids.

7)Laundry wow, I know this tasks can really be irritating, but what I do is make my laundry and as soon as it is dry I fold and put away, this way I prevent staking of clothes around and then have more chores. It sounds hard and a lot of trouble but I am sure the best way to have all on time in your home and work is doing it, don't say I have to do this just stand up and do it, remember to draw a line from your list so you can know what you have done already, this helps you feel happy for reaching your goal this day.

The idea is to enjoy your tasks and work enough that you can sit and breath and enjoy your time.

You probably sort your paper mail quickly before you read it to figure out what to look at first, what to read later, and what to throw away. 1. Color Code to Identify Key Messages

Color code priority messages to quickly identify e-mail from your most important contacts such as management, staff, or team members. To apply colors in Microsoft Outlook, highlight a message from a contact, choose Tools > Organize, select the option Using Colors and pick how you want to color-code your incoming messages from the specific contact.

2. Streamline with Categories and Folders

Stop using your Inbox as a reference system filled with messages that don't require an immediate action. To further organize your messages, create categories and folders with useful labels such as Team Members, Projects, Personal, and others. The Categories feature in Microsoft Outlook, for instance, helps to organize and view active messages into groups within your Inbox. Create and use e-mail folders to store messages that you have already handled and wish to keep for history or folders for e-mail that contains informational reading and general reference.

Note that folders and categories sort in alphabetical order which is not likely to place your priority items at the top. Adding a letter or number at the beginning of a label, such as a-Team Members and b-Projects, will sort these towards the top of your Inbox.

Stop wasting time by moving in and out of each message and start applying simple navigation tricks. In Microsoft Outlook, for instance, you can move in your Inbox with the up or down arrow key to select a message. Then press [Enter] to open the message. To move to the next message directly from the current e-mail, look for toolbar buttons with arrows or press [Ctrl] + > for the next message and [Ctrl] + < for the previous e-mail. Press [Esc] to close the active message.

5. Sort to Find Messages

To quickly sort your e-mail messages, click once on a column heading for the new order you want such as sender, subject or date. For instance, to sort messages by the sender, click once on the Sender heading. By clicking twice on a column heading, the sort order changes from ascending (A-Z) order to descending (Z-A) order. By the way, the abbreviations RE and FW in the Subject line are ignored when you sort messages alphabetically by subject.

What follows is a condensed version of a conversation that happens all too frequently when I am approached by a prospect interested in search engine optimization (SEO):

Prospect: We need our website optimized, because we aren't showing up for any searches.
Me: What searches have you tried?
Prospect: We don't show up for ANYTHING.
Me: Why do you want to show up in searches?
Prospect: Well, it seems like we should.

Me: But, really, what would you stand to gain from showing up prominently in search engine results?
Prospect: Well, we could get more people who are looking for our products or services to find out about us.

Prospect: Yes.
Me: Now we're on the right track. Since your goals are to increase sales and awareness, have you thought about not only improving your search engine rankings, but also getting more people to take an action on your site that leads to a sale, getting more people to read your press releases or whitepapers so that they can consistently associate your company with your offering, or sending your prospects a regular newsletter to reinforce your name and expertise?
Prospect: Didn't you hear me? Our website is great. We just don't show up for searches.

And so it goes.

A consistent problem with the "ranking-centric" mindset demonstrated above is that it doesn't reflect a powerful rationale for getting involved in SEO. Where is the true business case? What tangible results are desired? In general, if a prospect can't explain what he or she hopes to achieve beyond "higher rankings" or "more traffic," we'll first try to educate, and, if that person can't move beyond these base subjects, we'll kindly refer them elsewhere.

More and more frequently, people are getting into SEO for the wrong reasons (and sometimes for no real reason at all). Achieving

Website conversion is the art and science of getting more of the people who come to your website to take the action that you want them to take - fill out your contact form, read your whitepapers, sign up for your newsletter, or (in the case of e-commerce) buy something. For a company

The critical point that is commonly overlooked in a ranking-centric mindset is that no number of high search engine positions will address the real problem if your website is not serving as an effective marketing and sales tool. And, as I have said many times before, the overall net effect of raising your conversion rate from one to two percent is the same net effect as doubling your traffic, and it is almost always easier. Increasing the number of visitors to a site that does not convert them effectively is like pumping high performance gasoline into a car with engine trouble - it might help the car to run a little bit better, but if you'd done repairs before adding the premium fuel, it really would have hummed.

Your website is only one potential online destination where people can find out about your company, and a typical user will regard your site as an advertisement since you have complete control over the content. With optimized press releases and expert articles, however, you can have your company name mentioned on popular news sites and industry portals, where credibility is more inherent. Press releases that are optimized to appear when certain terms are typed into news search engines are an excellent way to build name recognition and credibility. If someone is taking the time to look for news related to your industry, he or she is probably either in your business, learning about your market, or writing a piece about your industry. The last category is especially significant since a recent study* indicates that 98% of journalists go online daily, 92% use the Internet for article research, and 73% use it to find press releases. Whatever motivation a person has when he or she searches for news related to your industry, you want your company represented in the results. Expert Articles

Another great way to promote your expertise and business is to write expert articles and submit them to the leading online publications in your field. At least one person in your company is almost certainly an expert in your field - why not let everyone know that? A person that reads an expert article published on an industry portal, and who subsequently clicks through to the website (from the link in the expert's bio) is extremely targeted and already has a favorable impression of your company. Moreover, the same study cited above found that 76% of journalists go online to seek news sources or experts. When your company has demonstrated that you have experts on staff by publishing articles in credible, non-biased forums, the phone invariably starts to ring. Your experts will be asked to provide their opinions, quotes, or experiences for feature articles, often in prestigious industry publications. The benefits of this, of course, do not need explanation.

A side benefit to both of the strategies above is that they increase the number of inbound links to your website and, therefore, can help greatly enhance your search engine rankings - which might be the primary reason you looked into SEO in the first place.

Direct mail was once considered a marketer's dream - but email newsletters can be much more effective. Imagine a direct mail list with a low delivery cost, where every single person on the list has shown an interest in receiving such mailings. Such is the nature of opt-in email newsletters. People have shown enough interest in your company, or, at least, in what your company has to say, to invite you to communicate with them on a regular basis. They are essentially giving you permission to keep yourself "first in mind" whenever they are considering your products or services. Such opportunities are rare in the marketing world. By combining the conversion principles you have applied to your website to your email newsletters, you can also get people to take an action that puts them into your sales pipeline without worrying about getting them to your website itself.

Conclusion

These are only a few of the additional ways to expand an online initiative beyond a misdirected ranking-centric approach. Weblogs (or blogs) are often considered another new frontier in online marketing, and we haven't even touched on paid media opportunities such as banner ads or pay-per-click marketing. However, the three components mentioned above are important elements of a complete and successful online marketing initiative. An SEO campaign launched without considering them is like driving a four-cylinder car with only one cylinder firing - it will move, but you'd definitely reach your destination more quickly - and more smoothly - with all four.

The term business valuation is the method by which the business worth is determined. This usually happens when the business is for sale, when the business is looking for extra funding from the banks, when the business is considering taking on extra investors, or where the business is looking at merging with another organisation.

Aspects of Valuing a Business
A business is worth whatever someone else is prepared to pay for it and therefore its value will vary from person to person. There are many ways to value a business and the final price will differ, depending on the method used.

When the business is for sale, the price the seller wants is usually never the price received. This is because the seller's perception of the value is usually much higher than the buyer's. The final price is usually in between because the buyer and seller will negotiate an agreed figure.

Value against Ability to Make a Profit
When purchasing a business, obtain professional advice regarding the valuation. You need to be happy that you are not paying more than what you believe it is worth. If you pay too much and encounter financial problems later on, your capital reserves will diminish very quickly, because the business will not perform to the level indicated by the seller.

In general, a business should be valued against the ability it has for making profits. Other factors, such as the ability to generate good cash flows, or the consistency of profits, or a potential for growth and the lack of competitors, will have an effect on the price. Finding True Worth of the Business
If you are buying a business it is important to calculate the true worth of the business on offer. This can be a problem for a prospective buyer. It is for this reason that the buyer should seek professional advice, both from a business valuer or accountant, as well as from a business broker who deals in the type of business offered by the seller.

From the buyer's point of view, buying a business is an investment decision and, as with any other investment decision, the net worth or value will be based upon the ability of the business to provide returns.

These returns are represented by the profits the business makes, so the value of available profits will have a bearing on the net worth (or price) finally agreed to by both parties. An area that requires special attention is goodwill.

Goodwill has many definitions, but one of the simpler explanations for goodwill is; it assumes that because the business has been running with an established clientele or customer base for some time, the clientele or customer base will keep coming to the business for their requirements, thus creating a value known as goodwill.

Price based on Asset Values
When a business is put on the market to be sold, the owner (seller) will ask for a price based on the asset value, plus its ability to generate profits for the potential new owner. Assets could mean; plant and equipment, stocks, branding, trademarks and licences etc. owned by the business. Valuing assets is fairly easy. However, arriving at the true value of the assets is not always straightforward.

For example, the assets would be valued in the books of the business at a different valuation than in the current market. Some assets (such as computers), may be in the business books at $4,000 being the original cost less depreciation, and yet because of the advancement in technology, that same computer could now be worth half that.

A potential owner will therefore only be prepared to pay market value, rather than the original cost, less depreciation. Another intangible asset valued is known as goodwill, (already explained above). Also, another asset, (which can be termed intangible) is intellectual property.

Intellectual property relates to the patents, trademark and other trade secrets and designs, which are owned by the business. Because they are unique to the business they have value.

You've been asked to speak for an audience. However, the event organizer or meeting planner tells you they can't pay you. Your heart sinks knowing that speaking for free will cost you in the long run. You think of all the expenses you'll incur - gas, parking, photocopying materials, babysitter - and speaking for free means you won't be reimbursed for these incidental costs.

Although a free gig can eat into your bottom line, you don't need to refuse it altogether. If you're still building your expertise, free gigs can help you to refine your message and try out new concepts on an eager audience.

The only way you can make money if you're speaking for free, is to sell something. You just have to. Otherwise, known as back of the room (BOR) sales, here are some tips for ensuring that you rake in the cash even if you're speaking for free.

Develop an information product that relates to your speech. You can sell a special report, a CD or a booklet that contains detailed information from your speech. For example, I do a speech called 7 Brainless Networking Techniques to Avoid. After my speech, I encourage attendees to buy my ebook on CD called Schmooze Your Way to Success for further reading and research. Even if you don't have an ebook or physical book to sell, there are ton of information products you can develop. Here are some ideas:
- Photocopies of a 10-page special report
- An audio CD containing a teleclass you led
- A data CD containing a collection of reports, articles or an ebook
- A booklet with dozens of tips
- A DVD with a training session you did for another group
Sell something that people can take away with them. People want to buy something that they can hold in their hands and walk out the door with. Coaching sessions, digital downloads and other intangible products may be a tougher sell since people can't hold or touch it. Opt to sell a CD, a booklet or a book instead.
Ensure that your product is inexpensively priced. If it's too expensive, attendees won't buy. If it's too cheap, attendees will ignore it. Anything priced between $10 to $20 is appropriate for BOR sales.
Accepting credit cards is a must. People are impulse buyers, especially at special events. If there's a rush to the table to buy your product and you only accept cash, you will miss out on potential business. At least 45% of my BOR sales are through credit cards.
Many credit card processing companies can set you up with a telephone call-in service within 2-weeks. You collect the credit card number at the event, then you call-in later from your home or cell phone to authorize it. Simple as pie.
Mention your product at the end of your speech. Never, ever, mention your product throughout your presentation. This will turn people off. It's tasteless to introduce a concept in your speech, and then say, "You can find a more detailed, step-by-step process in my ebook." Instead, graciously give attendees 45-minutes worth of useful information, then at the very end, after the Q&A, pitch a 2-minute commercial for your product.
Try to videotape or audiotape your presentation. You always want to improve on your speech and being able to review it later is always helpful. Hire a videographer to tape your presentation. If you can't find one, record your presentation using an audio recording device. Capturing a recording of your speech will do 2 things:
- You can evaluate the audience's reaction to your sales pitch. If sales were low, you can tweak it. Or, if sales were high, you can duplicate what you said word for word at other speaking engagements.
- If your speech was amazing, you can package the video or audio and sell it at your next speaking engagement. Imagine how grateful your audience will feel knowing they don't have to take notes because they can purchase your presentation and review it at their leisure.
Remember to ask if you can make sales. Before saying yes to a free gig, always get the permission from the meeting planner or event organizer for BOR sales. Most times, they will say yes to your request. In the odd event that they say no, tell them you'll donate a portion of sales to their group. This should win them over. If the meeting planner or event organizer still refuses your request for BOR sales, you may want to rethink doing a free gig for them.

Free speaking engagements can cost you big, but not if you incorporate BOR sales into your strategy. Follow the tips above and you'll gleefully say yes to a free gig knowing that you'll be able to cover your costs with the product sales you'll make at the event.

Forget getting to the top of the search engines. Let your Webmaster do that. Instead, try out some of these low- maintenance ways to bring 'em back to your Web site for more.

1. Upload new, original, and useful content often. Do not think of your Web site as a virtual brochure. Avoid blatant ads such as banners, which turn visitors off. Give them information only they can't find anywhere else-and give it free. People want and need how to's, especially.

Always think benefits when you post some new article. Helping your visitors get what they want will bring their trust and respect as an expert, and eventually, bring you profit from your book, other products, or service.

2. Update your Web site content regularly and often, perhaps daily or weekly. If someone visits your site and finds nothing new, they will disappear into cyberspace and spend their time on other sites.

If you don't want to write articles, copy and paste other people's articles or tips from their ezines or Web sites with their permission, of course. Keep the pieces under 1200 words. Common lengths are anywhere from 75-1000 words. You can include a tip list, past feature articles from your ezine, an excerpt from your book, poetry, a heart-felt story, or a character sketch from your fiction book.

3. Publish your own ezine. Make it short and sweet. Start with a monthly, then see if you can do it bi-weekly. If you don't stay in regular touch with your possible buyers, they will forget you and your book's message.

People want to know you better, so they can trust you and think of you as an expert in your field. Your free information, tips and resources will keep them as subscribers. 8. Post a monthly special only for your Web visitors. Call it "Discount of the month," or"Freebie of the month." Without incentives your audience will go elsewhere. Go to your files now, and see what you can use. This fabulous technique has worked well for the author.

9. Enjoy the journey. Each day, you can learn something that will make your Web site more real, more YOU. Let your passion show! Add some personal information such as the personal column. 'The Coach's Corner" is a new column in the ezine, "The Book Coach Says." It mentions personal writing and marketing set backs, boo boos, along with a tip or so. Put personal messages on your site too.

10. Allow everything you do on the Net to be easy and fun. If you don't love to create ad copy, or if you don't like the technical side, delegate it to someone who loves it. Do what you do best and hire the rest. It's far smarter to eliminate all struggle from your adventure, so you will shine at what you do.

The biggest complaint from clients is that they get hits, but not enough sales. When you follow the above tips, you'll be much more likely to succeed at increased sales.
